Essential mentoring tasks and processes

  • Participants will learn the essential mentoring tasks and processes.

Preparing for the first meeting

  • Participants will learn how to prepare for their first meeting with their mentee.
  • They will learn how to provide feedback on the mentee’s agreement and how to formally begin the mentoring relationship.

Understanding the mentee

  • Participants will learn the skills and tools to practically understand the mentee.
  • Participants will learn how to diagnose the mentee’s readiness level.
  • They will also learn how to mentor and guide the mentee through the various stages of mentee readiness.

Mentoring agreement and contract

  • In this module participants will be taught how to set up a mentoring agreement and how to conduct a discussion that will lead to a formal acceptance or decline of the relationship. They will be taught how to scope the framework for such an agreement.

  • Participants will learn how to help the mentee set goals.

Helping the Mentee develop

  • Participant will learn how to craft development activities for the mentee.
