Overall Objectives

This workshop is aimed at familiarizing the first time manager to some of the core aspects of leadership. This workshop will also enable the learner to gain a deep understanding of the roles, responsibilities, accountabilities and the rewards of being a manager.

Specific Objectives

  • Learn key leadership and managerial principles and roles.
  • Learn what successful leadership characteristics are.
  • Gain insight into own leader style and approach.
  • Know how to listen actively.
  • Know how to motivate and create an enabling environment.
  • Know how to gain credibility as a new manager.
  • Know the leadership your organization is requiring

  • Assess your leadership and assumptions.
  • Gain a clear understanding of what leadership means for you and your organisation today.
  • Understand that the leader and manager roles are different but is required in one person.

Outcomes
