ASSERTIVENESS

Introduction

Assertion means taking ownership for your wants, needs, beliefs and opinions. It is doing this in a manner which is clear and honest.  It means taking a stand and expressing yourself so that others hear you and begin to take you seriously.  The purpose is not to impose yourself, will, ideas or needs on others for you to be heard. The approach is to establish a situation where all parties feel respected, valued and in a win-win relationship.  Assertion training should allow all the participants to return to work creating a more productive, open, solution orientated environment. This programme can assist toward increasing workplace effectiveness, efficiency, productiveness and competitiveness.
